There are many events to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month in Missouri. Here are a few:

Greater St. Louis Hispanic Festival
Hosted by Hispanic Festival, Inc., this long-running community celebration showcases the richness and diversity of Hispanic culture through live performances, food, arts, and community engagement. Dates and times are listed on the Hispanic Festival website.
The Art of Welcome: Building Communities that Last – September 24
Join the Cambio Center and Della Lamb Community Services for a community conversation featuring an immigrant community member, a researcher, and a community leader as we explore what it means to create welcoming communities for immigrants. The event will take place on Monday, September 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Missouri United Methodist Church (Corner of 9th and Elm St., Columbia, MO 65201). Register to attend.
Midwest Mariachi Festival-KC – September 26
A day-long celebration of mariachi music featuring educational clinics for students and musicians, followed by an evening performance by Mariachi Herencia de México and local artists on September 26. Details of the event are on the Mariachi Festival website.
Hispanic Heritage Festival in Columbia – October 3
Join Como Comunidad on October 3 from 11 AM to 2 PM in Columbia for a free, family-friendly celebration of Hispanic and Latino culture. The festival will feature live mariachi music, Ballet Folklórico performances, authentic Latin American food, children’s activities, local vendors, and opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate the richness of the region. Nuestra Comunidad, Nuestras Historias (Our Community, Our Stories) – October 8
Step into the heart of Hispanic Heritage Month with an evening of powerful storytelling that honors the experiences, traditions, and voices that continue to shape St. Louis from 5-8 pm on October 8. Hosted by storytelling facilitator Adam Flores, local St. Louisans will share their personal stories in a way that promises to stir emotions, spark laughter, and invite moments of reflection and connection. Discover how the Missouri Historical Society’s Migration and Memory Initiative is working to preserve the stories of people who have come from around the globe and made St. Louis their home, ensuring these lived experiences become part of our region’s history. Before and after the storytelling program, explore cultural resource tables, enjoy performances, and purchase food and drinks from Hispanic vendors. 💀 COMMUNITY OFRENDA & MEMORY OBJECT EXHIBIT – October 9 & 16, 2:30-4:30 PM

🌼 Marigold Paper Making Workshop – October 16, 1:00-3:00 PM
SVS Fiber Studio (Bingham Commons Dining Hall) — Come learn to make paper from Marigold pulp and seeds. Use your paper to make papel picado, paper flowers or whatever you like. Come back to pick up in FAB after curing on 11/2
🎉 DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS & LATIN CULTURE Mini Fair – November 2, 2:00-5:00 PM
Outside the Fine Arts Building (Hitt Street Side) — Celebrate the final day of the exhibition with: Community ofrenda viewing, local vendors, cultural marketplace, and free Mexican Sweetbread & Hot Chocolate. Costumes and cultural attire encouraged!
